Lake Iskar is the largest inland lake in Bulgaria and stretches 15km along the main Sofia to Borovets road and is a very beautiful and impressive sight. The lake is 30km south of Sofia and is a hive of activity for tourists in the summer time.
The Lake has many watersports on offer from wake boarding, waterskiing and windsurfing to the more serene options of canoeing or pedal boating with reasonably priced tuition available. The area has an excellent hot summer climate, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing overlooking the tree-clad mountains that seem to just drop down to the shores of this beautiful lake.
The most popular restaurant to dine at the lake has a large terrace where you can enjoy the fabulous cuisine and gaze out over the breathtaking view of the lake.
Lake Iskar really does have everything you could want for a fantastic summer holiday without the crowds of the beach and sand in your sandwiches! |
